Late September
When: (Saturday), 0800-1730hrs (1hr lunch break). Students receive a brand new IFAK (Improved First Aid Kit) from Refuge Medical ($335 value), a set of Combat Lifesaver books, and a .pdf of Army Handbook 17-13 Tactical Combat Casualty Care. The medical class will be covering the following topics:
* Mental preparation/considerations/family dynamics
* Principles of Triage: When, who, why, resources
* In-depth analysis of various situations presenting illness or injury
* Head to toe assessment and treatment considerations
* Splinting techniques and improvised stabilization options
* Treating for shock, Hot & Cold weather injuries
* Bleeding and wound control
* Tourniquet application and rationale
* Burns (thermal, chemical, etc.)
* OTC medicine variations
* Working in groups and individual capacity
* Lots of hands-on with your kit, scenarios to respond to

*Layaway terms; 30% (minimum) down, 30 days to pay balance, no penalty. 31-60 days 10% late fee added. After 60 days all funds and item retained/put back out for general sale.
* Allow 24hrs for serialized items received through shipping channels to be processed into our books and entered into the POS system.
